ToggleMount Everest - Highest mountain in the world

Everybody has heard about Mount Everest. After all, it is only the highest mountain in Nepal and the world. It has a height of 8,848 meters (29,029 ft) above sea level and is located between Nepal and China. All this sounds very exciting to anyone interesting in trekking in Nepal. Still, the truth is, Nepal mountains are not easy peasy, and that applies especially to this one. It is very difficult and even to climb this giant. Nepal does not encourage people that do not have the necessary skills and equipment to go on such a risky adventure, which means you must be well prepared if you want to climb Mount Everest. The trek to Mount Everest’s base camp is challenging and dangerous. It takes months or even years of training for anyone who wants to try it, but some people still do! These brave souls walk all day long without taking any breaks or sitting down – they just keep going. There are approximately 10,000 people who reached the top of this Nepal mountain, but the number of people who tried is so much bigger.
There are two main routes to do trekking on Mount Everest. The south route is from the side of Nepal, and this is the one most climbers chose because it seems to be more direct but is not the easiest. With this one, it takes approximately 60 days to get to the highest point of the Nepal mountain.
The north route is from the side of Tibet, and the climb in this one is easier. If you choose this route, you are exposed to higher altitudes for more days than when you start in Nepal.
The risk is high, but Nepal’s highest mountains are great for people who admire Nepal mountains and those who really want to do trekking in Nepal. With the right equipment and know-how, the Nepal mountains are the perfect place for an adventure.

Highest mountains in Nepal Kanchenjunga

Located on the Nepal-India border, this part of Nepal has the second-highest mountains in Nepal and the third highest mountain in the world. The height of this Nepal mountain is 8,586 meters (28,169 ft) above sea level, and it is the most remote mountain, which makes it very dangerous for mountaineering.
Only experienced climbers are allowed to go up this Nepal mountain. Nepal mountains are not easy and dangerous, and this is one of them that proves that. The highest point on Mount Kanchenjunga (also referred to as “Kanchenzonga”) can only be reached by those who had some training for these types of climbs. Nepal’s second-highest mountain does not allow inexperienced mountaineers access to its peak.
Kanchenjunga Nepal is famous for the view it provides, but also for the difficulty it takes to reach the top of it. The highest points are only accessible with the help of ropes and climbing equipment – trekking in Nepal is not easy!
The first time someone climbed Kanchenjunga was in 1995. They thought that Kanchenjunga was the highest mountain, but that was because of an error when measuring.
This Nepal mountain has three trekking routes, one from Nepal’s side and two from India. The Nepal route can be done by taking an 18-day round trip, but the other routes are more challenging and take longer to reach the top.

Lhotse - Nepal Mountains

The next Nepal mountain on the list is Lhotse. This one is the 4rth highest mountain in the world too. Lhotse is the word for “south peak” in Tibetan. Being one of the highest mountains in Nepal, Lhotse is located on the border of Nepal and China. The summit of Lhotse is 8,516 meters (27,940 ft) above sea level. Some people say this mountain is overshadowed by Mount Everest, Nepal’s highest mountain. Still, they are connected and now is when the “south peak” thing makes more sense.
Lhotse and Mount Everest are connected by the South Cole, located 8,000 meters.
Even if Mount Everest is better known and more popular globally, climbing Lhotse is as hard as climbing Mount Everest. The trekking routes are similar, and the risks are the same. Everybody needs to be careful while trekking in Nepal since non of the Nepal mountains on this list is really easy. To climb this mountain, you need to be physically fit, and you need to acclimatize well. Nepal’s geography is known for its high altitude, and every traveler needs to respect this fact.

Makalu Nepal Highest Mountains

Makalu mountain is the fifth highest mountain globally, but it ranks as the fourth-highest in Nepal. Makalu Nepal is a part of Nepal’s Mahalangur Himalayas, and its height is 8,485 meters (27,838 ft) above sea level. It is located about 19 km southwest of Mount Everest, also on Tibet’s border. Many wonderful Nepal Nepal treks pass by the foot of the mountain. Still, you should be well prepared to handle high altitudes before attempting to climb it.
While it may seem like a small mountain compared with others, Makalu is far from being insignificant. This pyramid-shaped peak with four sharp ridges makes the Nepal Mountains Range stand out in all its glory – and there aren’t many places you can find that have such incredible scenery! Not only does this range mark our border between China on the southern side of Nepal.
There are trekking routes, but trekking here is not as popular as trekking in Nepal’s highest mountains. Hence, the number of people who have achieved the tp of this one is way lower, and the risk is very high. We are talking about one of the highest mountains in Nepal, so, yeah, still dangerous but possible.
Cho Oyu - Nepal Mountains

In addition to being one of the most beautiful mountains in all of Asia, Cho Oyu is also an excellent climbing destination. The sixth highest mountain on earth at 8188 meters tall with mild slopes and close proximity near Nangpa La pass makes it easy for adventurers looking forward to achieving their dream climb! This Nepal mountain is the last one in the Everest region. It is located in the greater Himalayas range, right on the border between Nepal and China, just as the ones before.
The easiest 8000-meter peak? Sounds like a perfect climb for those with limited time and/or mountaineering experience. Base Camp can be reached by jeep, which makes it an attractive option compared to more difficult mountains in Nepal that require hard travel arrangements onto their trails from Kathmandu – where one must stay during any journey on this side of town! It is also a good option if you don’t want to spend months climbing because Cho Oyu takes less time than Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, or Makalu. But don’t get me wrong. Even if this mountain is not on the top of the highest mountains in Nepal, it is still risky to climb it without the proper experience, the right training, and enough gear and tools.
Always be careful, no matter which mountain you choose.

Dhaulagiri I Highest mountains in Nepal

If there is a mountain that lives up to its name, that’s Dhaulagiri! Its name is a word in Sanskrit, meaning “white beautiful mountain” – and it is. This Nepal Mountain is located in the massif of the Himalayas, northwest of Annarpuna in west-central Nepal. Its height is 8167 meters (26795 ft). A fun fact about this mountain is that it is the highest mountain in Nepal. You may be wondering, “but, what about the 5 mountains before?” well, the five mountains before on this list are in Nepal, yes. Still, part of them is also in Chinese territory, while Dhaulagiri is fully located in Nepalese territory. That’s what makes it the highest mountain in Nepal. Fun, right?
Max Eiselin and his team accomplished the first recorded ascent in 1960. Since then, many successful adventurers have climbed it as well.
Suppose you want to be one of those adventurers and spend some time trekking in Nepal. In that case, you need to prepare well, something you’re probably already doing by reading this Nepal blog.
The two most popular ways to get up towards the mountain are via a small town called Beni, and people get there by bus ride from Pokhara or Kathmandu. If you are well prepared, it’s going to be easier.
Manaslu Nepal

As I stated before Nepal Mountains are my favorite. One of the most beautiful Nepal mountains is Manaslu, located in the Gurkha massif, forty miles east of Annapurna. It is one of the highest mountains in Nepal and the 8 highest mountain in the world. The name Manaslu is great, but not the original one. This mountain was first called ‘Kutan,’ which means ‘Flat place’ in the Tibetan language. Then they changed the name for ‘Manaslu,’ meaning is ‘Mountain of the spirit,’ and I think it’s beautiful. This Nepal mountain has a long history of several successful climbs by different climbers. It also works as a really beautiful adventure when trekking in Nepal.
One of the most popular Nepal treks is the Manaslu circuit, which can be completed in about two weeks or less if you have a relaxed pace. However, it has to be said that it’s not for novices because of its nature and its constant elevation changes across deep ravines.

Annapurna I

The Annapurna mountain in Nepal is known for being the 10th highest peak. It was also one of Asia’s first 8000 meters mountains to be climbed.
It is part of the Annapurna massif in Nepal, located in western Nepal. The Nepal mountain has six main peaks – Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna, and Annapurna South. These Nepal Mountains are so beautiful it is almost impossible not to fall in love with them the first time you see them! If you feel like trekking in Nepal and seek specifically the highest mountains in Nepal, maybe this is a good option. Getting it is not hard. You can find many ways to get there from Kathmandu. You’ll find groups of people looking to do the same, and actually, that’s a good thing because it is better if you don’t do it alone.
Gyachung Kang

Gyachung Kang is one of the least known mountains in all India. It’s not because it can’t compare to other titans like Everest or Cho Oyu. Gyachung Kang might be lower than some other mountains, but it’s no less impressive. This mountain range straddles both Nepal and China, and it doesn’t reach the 8,000 meters height as the mountains on this list. However, it is the highest mountain under the 8-thousands and still one of the highest mountains in Nepal.
Annapurna II Highest mountains in Nepal

We already talked about Annapurna I. Annapurna II is part of the Annapurna massif, located in western Nepal. If you are thinking about trekking in Nepal and Annapurna is one of your options, you need to know something. This is the lowest mountain on the list, but it doesn’t mean that it is the easiest or the safer one. Actually, Annapurna is also on the list of the most dangerous mountains to climb in the world. The percentage of people who got to the top of it is super low, and the percentage of people who died trying is really high, so as you can see, it is a risky Nepal mountain. If you want to do this Nepal trek, you need to be well-equipped with the right gear and training.
